Why Why Why??

Why keep the server running when only the older version of firefox is compatible with this addon?
I hope they don't expect firefox users to downgrade to an earlier version. I'm only doing it for this presentation.

How old is this thing called mystickies?

It was added to CNET on February 2006 so my guess is it was probably released sometime in 2005. "Status Update 7/13/09: MyStickies has recently experienced a server outage. We felt we had sufficient backups in place to restore all data but apparently we did not. Some data may have been lost."
The servers are still running but it makes me wonder why?

WTF

In Hawaii summer 2009

All Set. TVersity is running

AaaaH..
Now what?! Just kidding.. Let's test it

DirectX??

One of the requirement for running the TVersity software is to have directx 9.0 or greater. I had no clue how to do that so I google for the answer (sorry, I did not use the scholar here). I was just happy to have a million hits. That feels good (Ah..a million!). PS. the sound is terrible (WHATTTT!!!!)

Finding the requirement for running TVersity

When I decided to presenting how to set up a media server, I had no clue what a media server was or what it is used for. I wanted to learn something new and practical.

Life with ACSG 500

Busy.. busy.. busy..
Three presentations for one semester..
I'm thinking about presenting the first one on setting up a media server using TVersity. What's a media server? Let 's ask wikipedia: "By definition a media server is a device that simply stores and shares media. This definition is vague, and can allow several different devices to be called Media Servers. It may be a simple Network-attached storage, a media center PC running Windows XP Media Center Edition, MediaPortal or MythTV, or a commercial web server that hosts media for a large web site. In a home setting, a media server acts as an aggregator of information: video, audio, photos, books, etc. These different types of media (whether they originated on DVD, CD, digital camera, or in physical form) are stored on the media server's hard drive. Access to these is then available from a central location. It may also be used to run special applications that allow the user(s) to access the media from a remote location via the internet."
Hmmm...
